Pacific Blue Ice Hens & Chicks – Sempervivum – Very Hardy – Live Plant – Quart Pot

Sempervivum are succulent, rosette forming plants belonging to the Crassulaceae family. They are commonly known as Hens & Chicks, Houseleeks or Hen and Chickens. The main attraction of these plants is their colourful rosettes of leaves. The rosettes are most striking in the spring and summer but even in the winter when growth stops, many varieties remain attractively coloured. It is the endless range of different leaf shapes, colours and textures that make this group so interesting to enthusiasts.

An attractive addition for a rockery, crevices, trough gardens, containers or raised beds, ‘Pacific Blue Ice’ has steel blue foliage in summer but takes on burgundy tints with cooler temperatures. Many offsets or chicks are produced off the 4″ mother hen rosette. Plants grow only 3-4″ tall, and the width depends on how many offsets you get. super Hardy and deer resistant.
